We know that family succession is one of the biggest challenges for any company. And, to ensure the longevity of the business, we created the Successors Project!
From March 17 to 20, we took more than 100 successors from the largest wholesale and retail companies of construction materials in Brazil and Latin America to Punta del Este, Uruguay. The event, which took place at the Enjoy Hotel, had the support of the Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay.
Curated by ISE BusinessSchool (#Top2 in the Financial Times ranking) – we explored key topics such as organizational culture, the impact of new technologies and the training of directors. In addition, a special panel with the consultancies JK Capital and Lobo de Rizzo brought strategic discussions on wealth governance and capital protection from different perspectives. We had four unmissable conferences:
Building Organizational Culture - Insights and Challenges, with Cesar Bullara, specialist in People Management and Business Ethics.
Adoption of New Technologies in Organizations - Impacts of Artificial Intelligence and Other Technologies, with Fabio Barbosa, professor of Operations, Technology and Innovation.
Training of the General Director - A Humanistic Perspective, taught by Marcos Citeli, specialist in General Management and Negotiation.
Panel: Governance, Structures and Transactions in Family Businesses, with MarcoLa Rosa de Almeida and Alberto de Oliveira Neto, specialists in corporate law and business management.
Talking about a topic that can't be avoided
The general director of Atlas, Marcio Atz, brought up an important point: family succession is still a subject avoided by many entrepreneurs. Fear of the future, insecurity, and even denial cause many companies to postpone important decisions. And the result? Only 25% of companies survive the first succession! That is, many close their doors after 20 or 30 years of operation. Considering that 90% of Brazilian companies are family-owned, it is essential that this debate takes place to ensure business success and continuity.
Partners who make a difference
The Successors Project had the support of major brands such as ArcelorMittal, Mundial Prime, Viapol, Suvinil, Marluvas and Max Tools, in addition to the Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay.
The event was not only about learning and business – it also provided a unique immersion in Uruguayan culture!
One of the most memorable moments was the course "The Identity of Uruguayan Wine - Far Beyond Tannat", with sommelier Jerónimo Tellarini, who highlighted wine as a true art. Participants also visited the Narbona Winery, where they tasted wines, cheeses, hams and the classic Uruguayan barbecue.
To top it all off, attendees watched an exclusive tango show at Enjoy Puntadel Este.
Networking, knowledge and unforgettable experiences marked this edition of the Successors Project!
The cultural experience continued at MACA, one of the largest open-air museums in the world, where they were able to explore the relationship between art and construction. At the traditional Muelle3 restaurant , by the sea, they enjoyed the best of the local cuisine.
